About Minesweeper
Minesweeper is a classic logic puzzle game included with Windows since 1990. Click tiles to reveal numbers — each number tells you exactly how many of the surrounding eight tiles contain mines. Use these clues to deduce which tiles are safe and which are mined. Right-click to flag suspected mines. The goal is to reveal every safe tile without triggering a single mine. Flario's Minesweeper includes Easy (9×9, 10 mines), Medium (16×16, 40 mines), and Hard (30×16, 99 mines) boards, faithful to the classic Windows version.

What do the numbers mean in Minesweeper?
Each revealed number shows exactly how many of the eight surrounding tiles contain mines. A '1' means one of its neighbours is a mine, a '3' means three of its neighbours are mines, and so on. Using multiple adjacent numbers together lets you deduce which specific tiles are safe.
Is the first click always safe?
Yes. Flario's Minesweeper guarantees that your first click never hits a mine — the board is generated after your first click to ensure it is always safe. This gives you a clean starting area to begin deducing from.
How do I flag a mine?
Right-click any tile on desktop to place or remove a flag. On mobile, press and hold a tile to flag it. Flags are visual markers only — they do not affect gameplay but help you track which tiles you believe are mined.
What is a good time for completing Minesweeper?
For Easy (9×9), a time under 30 seconds is very good and under 15 seconds is expert level. For Medium (16×16), under 100 seconds is skilled, and for Hard (30×16), completing it in under 200 seconds is exceptional.
What should I do if I get stuck with no safe deductions?
Sometimes Minesweeper requires a guess. When no safe move can be logically deduced, pick a tile at the edge of the unknown area with the lowest probability of being a mine. Corners and areas adjacent to low-number tiles are usually safer guesses.
Is Minesweeper a game of skill or luck?
Mostly skill. Expert players can solve most boards through pure logic. However, some rare board configurations require a 50/50 guess with no additional information — this is unavoidable in the game's design and accepted as part of the challenge.
