Chess is the world's most enduring strategy game — two players, 32 pieces, and infinite depth. Flario's Chess is a complete, rules-correct implementation with the full FIDE ruleset: all piece movements, castling both kingside and queenside, en passant captures, pawn promotion to any piece, check and checkmate detection, stalemate, the 50-move draw rule, and insufficient material draws. How to Play
Tap or click any of your pieces to select it — legal moves appear as dots
Tap or click a highlighted square to move there
Capture opponent pieces by moving onto their square
Castle by clicking the king two squares toward a rook — squares must be clear and unattacked
En passant: capture a pawn that just double-pushed by moving diagonally behind it
Promote a pawn reaching the far rank — choose Queen, Rook, Bishop, or Knight
Put the opponent's king in checkmate to win
Stalemate, the 50-move rule, and insufficient material are all drawn

Control the centre early — pieces on e4, d4, e5, d5 have the most influence
Develop knights and bishops before moving the same piece twice
Castle early to protect your king and connect your rooks
A queen alone cannot force checkmate — you need rooks or the right minor pieces

1000 points for winning by checkmate. 200 points for a draw. Score reflects the result.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a computer opponent in Chess?
Not yet. The current version is pass-and-play — two people on one device. A computer opponent using the Stockfish engine is planned for a future update. Pass-and-play is the most common way to play Chess on a phone.
Does Flario Chess include all the rules?
Yes. The full FIDE ruleset is implemented: standard piece moves, castling, en passant, pawn promotion, check, checkmate, stalemate, the 50-move draw rule, and draws by insufficient material.
What is en passant?
En passant is a special pawn capture. If your opponent's pawn advances two squares from its starting rank and lands beside your pawn, you can capture it on the very next move as if it had only moved one square. The option disappears if you don't take it immediately.
Can I undo a move?
No. Flario Chess does not have an undo feature — once a move is made it stands. This keeps the game fair in pass-and-play mode. Start a new game if you want to try a different approach.
