Frequently Asked Questions

How do I play Snakes and Ladders?

Press the Roll Dice button on your turn. Your piece moves automatically by the number rolled. Land on the bottom of a ladder to climb up. Land on a snake's head to slide down. The first to reach exactly square 100 wins.

Do I need to roll the exact number to reach 100?

Yes. You must roll the exact number needed to land on square 100. If you would overshoot, your piece stays in place and you wait for the next turn. This adds suspense in the final squares.

How smart is the AI opponent?

The AI opponent moves based on dice rolls just like you — Snakes and Ladders is a game of pure chance with no skill element beyond accepting the outcome of each roll. The AI plays fairly without any advantage.

How long does a game of Snakes and Ladders take?

A typical game against the AI takes 3–8 minutes depending on dice luck. Games with many snakes hit tend to run longer. The inherent randomness means no two games play out the same way.

What is the history of Snakes and Ladders?

Snakes and Ladders originated in ancient India as Moksha Patam, a game teaching karma and morality — ladders represented virtues and snakes represented vices. It was brought to Britain in the 19th century and later commercialised as Chutes and Ladders in North America.

Can I play Snakes and Ladders against another person?

Currently Flario's Snakes and Ladders is single-player against an AI opponent. Multiplayer support — including a two-player mode on the same device — is planned for a future update.
