3×3 grid · 4.5s preview

Symbols appear briefly — then you recreate the grid from memory

About Focus Grid

Focus Grid is a Flario original visual memory game. A grid of symbols flashes briefly on screen — study every position carefully. Then the grid goes blank, and you must fill each cell from memory by selecting the correct symbol. Each round the preview time shortens and the grid fills with more unique symbols, increasing the challenge. Choose Easy (3×3 grid, 4.5 second preview), Normal (4×4 grid, 3 seconds), or Hard (5×5 grid, 2 seconds) to match your skill level. Focus Grid is used by memory athletes as a spatial grid recall training exercise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Focus Grid available anywhere else?

No. Focus Grid is a Flario original. The specific combination of grid-based symbol recall with progressive difficulty and themed visual design is exclusive to Flario.

How long do I have to study the grid?

On Easy difficulty you get 4.5 seconds to study a 3×3 grid. Normal gives 3 seconds for a 4×4 grid. Hard gives only 2 seconds for a 5×5 grid. The time reduces slightly with each level too, so later rounds are even more challenging.

What happens if I pick the wrong symbol for a cell?

Selecting a wrong symbol costs you a life. You have three lives per game. After losing all three lives the game ends and your final score is recorded. Each correct cell fills in permanently so you can focus on what remains.

How many different symbols appear in the grid?

The number of unique symbols increases with each level and with difficulty. Early rounds may use only 4–5 distinct symbols, making repeats common and positions easier to track. Later rounds introduce more unique symbols so each cell is more distinct.

What is the best strategy for Focus Grid?

Scan the grid systematically from top-left to bottom-right rather than randomly. Assign a quick label to each symbol — for example 'star top-left, circle centre' — to create a verbal map. This dual-coding of visual and verbal information significantly improves recall.

Is Focus Grid suitable for children?

Yes, especially on Easy difficulty. The symbols are clear and visually distinct, and the game builds genuine memory skills. Children as young as 7–8 find Easy mode challenging and rewarding.
